So I know that I’m probably the only one going to look at this post, and that begs the question why even do it? Well this music rocks and maybe there is that sliver of a chance somebody will check it out and be grateful they now can listen to the tunes of Miike Snow…I think I’m addicted at the moment, here is one of his songs down below, which they did two music videos to, so you can decide which one you like best. The other songs are amazing as well.

Video Vampires

New York band Vampire Weekend just released their new video for the song “Cousins”. This video was directed by Garth Jennings who has directed music videos in the past for Vampire Weekend and several other bands. Garth also worked on such films as “The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy” and “Son of Rambow”. His style is generally upbeat and very energetic as you will be able to tell in the video below. Lately it has been one of Garth’s goals to reach a mass audience in this internet age and he seems to be very hopeful of that. Of course doing work for Vampire Weekend is inspiring for energy, as they are brimming with it in their music. Well enjoy the video below and if you have time check out more of Garth Jennings work.

Cool ‘Hot Chip’

Electro-Pop band Hot Chip is releasing a new album in February titled “One Life Stand”. Band member Alexis Taylor said of the album, “I’m talking about turning a one night stand into someone’s whole life and I think that’s quite a nice thing to say.” I think that’s a pretty sweet idea, I mean just look at the post before about dating…is this the cure? Right back on topic, so Hot Chip is also in the process of shooting a video for the single and album title “One Life Stand” and  their music videos are quite enjoyable, in fact here is a good one below…or wait…so enjoyable that we have a DOUBLE FEATURE!!! Enjoy and take a listen to the single on their myspace music page.

Spring Surprise!

UK band Muse has announced that they will be doing a huge US tour next year starting around April. Tour dates and venues haven’t been listed as of yet, but the good word is that it will be a full on tour. They will be in the US this year for a few Christmas shows such as “Deck the Hall Ball” in Seattle and two others in Las Vegas and San Francisco, but that’s exclusive. So why is a big tour so exciting? Well if you haven’t heard, generally speaking Muse puts on one of the best shows around, even watching a DVD of one of their shows is exhilarating! So prepare yourselves for next spring or summer and get to a Muse show near you. Please enjoy the video below.

Don’t Throw Cups!

Morrissey

On November 7th during a performance at Echo Arena in Liverpool an audience member threw a cup at Morrissey, hitting him in the head. The incident happened at the beginning of the 2nd and ultimately the last song of the night as Morrissey left the stage only telling fans “goodnight”. If you’ve ever been to a concert you’ve seen what happens to people in the crowd who do anything to distract from the show, so I’m sure just by imagination the fellow who threw the cup probably faced a very angry mob.

Pavement on the Road Again!!

Pavement will tour again!

Pavement will tour again!

Stockton, CA based indie band Pavement will be back together again after an almost 11 year breakup. They’ve announced several dates including Auckland, New Zealand being their first. Pavement wasn’t extremely huge during their career in the nineties, but were basically a god in the indie world. Many argue that Pavement lead the way to what indie music is today. Announcing this world tour doesn’t mean though that they will start recording again or even continue to tour, so don’t get high hopes, but it should be wonderful while it lasts. There is much anticipation for this tour as tickets go on sale October 23rd. Pavement has also been scheduled to headline at “All Tomorrow’s Parties” festival in England. So the word is out and it’s spreading quickly, this will definitely be a show to see.

Passion Pit “Reeling” it in!

Passion Pit an electronic band that came together in 2007 is now kicking off their big release this year titled “Manners”. It’s no wonder why they are the rage now as the sold out show put on last night in Salt Lake City was high energy and left concert goers wanting more. It’s obvious that no one cared that the show didn’t start until midnight, in fact that probably added to the excitement.

What made the band so impressive? Not only is their music great to listen to, but the stage presence of each band member was felt. At one point in the show singer Michael Angelakos came down off the stage and joined the crowd adding to the synergy of the enjoyable atmosphere of a concert. Basically, even though Passion Pit is a rising star in the music industry they still put on that feeling of a small show which most fans in general love.
